Michael,
Peter born in 1864 was my grandfather. My Father
has told me many stories about him as a beer
distributor for Heileman. My father did tell me
he was with his dad until then end administering
morphine to ease the agony of cancer.
My Father Aloysius Peter Skroch was born 2/9/05
and died 2/4/94. He was buried on his 89th
birthday. He lived in Cudahy, Wisconsin from
1951 - 1994 with his wife Elsie Herta. He
graduated from River Falls Teachers College in
1927 or so. His occupations were school teacher,
Trempealeau County Deputy Sheriff, a machinist
for the Northern Pacific Railway, Engineer
during WW2 serving in North Africa, and a Tool
and Die Worker for Milwaukee Wire
Products. My mother was born in Milwaukee in
December 1913 and passed away January of
1980. I am there only child born 11/1/
1953 in Milwaukee . Sometime in the late 40's he
changed his last name from Skroch to Schrock. I
live in Lakeville, Minnesota with my wife
Katherine, daughter Carrie & son Frank.
His Sister Clara was a Nun in Chicago and
passed away in 1986 I believe. His brother
Alphonse ( Who I only knew as Uncle Ollie
) lived in Othello, Washington at the time of
his passing. I had heard Uncle Ollie was one "
Hooligan " in his time. Uncle Ollie passed away
around 1991. His sister Helen lived in Winona
until her passing. ...
Anyway nice to make this connection.
Peter
